- I felt like the learning experience with the teacher didn't really do much for me. Mr. Schoonover is a wonderful teacher, and enjoyed the material I sent to him. Ultimately though, he didn't use much of it in the classroom. He also didn't give much feedback on what could have been better or more geared towards his classroom. It is also very tough incorporating any type of media into a P.E. setting, which is completely understandable. The class itself however was a different case. I learned so much new stuff that I will definitely use in the classroom. I can't wait for the opportunity to try new things and use new gadgets that I learned in the class.
-Mr. Schoonover told me many times he liked what he was recieving and thought that they were very instructional. he did end up having a couple students from his history classes taking a look at some of my material to use for their classes, but in a P.E. setting, I got the feeling he liked the way he ran things and didn't want anyone to intrude on the structure of his PE classes. He was very positive with his feedback however.
- Like I had mentioned... The experience of learning so many cool things that deal with media use was phenomenal. I feel like I can actually use this as a very effective teaching method in a classroom, and I am sure I will use many of the areas we covered in class. The overall service learning experience was a 5-10 on the scale to be honest with ya. It was great learning things in class, putting them in a media format and having a cooperating teacher tell you that they look fantastic, but having it be a P.E. class is what I think proved most difficult. I have the believe, much like mr. schoonover does, that the time in class should be spent getting a good exercise in.
- Was it Worth it?...... Definitely! Even though I gave it a 5/10, the process of everything was a great learning experience. As an individual who aspires to be a great teacher someday, I know that part of being the best is learning new things, incorporating new things, and to not beat yourself up if something you worked hard on didn't end up being a complete success. I refer everything to baseball... In baseball if you fail 7/10 times... you are a success. As a student teacher/ new teacher, it's not expected that you be great. It's expected that you work hard and put pieces together so that one day in the future you can be great. I think this experience will definitely help me along the way of becoming what I ultimately want to be... A Great Teacher

Service Learning #3
- The relationship with Mr. Schoonover is still great. Everytime we talk, it's mostly on little hints on how to be an effective teacher overall. He has definitely settled everything down and made it seem ok to mess up as a teacher, because it's all a learning experience.
- The The only artifact he's used is the cyber ethics. He thinks the majority of the things on the website are insightful and helpful, but the cyber ethics is the only one he has really put to use in his classroom.
- I think it is going good. He's an experienced teacher who has his class structured a certain way, so I can understand why it would be difficult to start incorporating new things. I am happy he has enjoyed the cyber ethics content, and has put it to use in his class.

- Mr. Danny Schoonover was my baseball coach in high school, ao my relationship is very good with him, and he is willing to work with me on anything I need.
- he has told me that the artifacts are pretty neat, He loved the cyber ethics parts I put together, and has used some of those for his classroom. He has told me that it is tough to incorporate some of the things I have put together, but he is going to try his best to use them.
- To me, it isn't much... I feel like it's an assignment that I learn certain things in, and then I put it on a website to allow the teacher to use it if they want. The best part about it, is the actual contact with the teacher.

Service Learning #1
- I am working with Mr. Danny Schoonover of Lone Peak High School
- I'm most excited about learning new things that I may be able to use in my classroom. My hope is to use tools to get students engaged and excited
- I'm most nervous about keeping up with everything. I have 19 credit hours this semester, so I fear that I may be left behind. Also I don't know very much about working with a computer, and so without much knowledge, I have a feeling somethings will become intimidating.

Google Tools Reflection
Documents/Presentations/Spreadsheets - I would definitely use a spread sheet to keep track of role, and use it to check off student assignments
Forms - Forms can be used to have permission from parents as well as having student sign off on their own goals
Calender - Helps me realize whether it is an A or B day, and helps me keep track of what I want accomplished during the day in a brief statement
IGoogle - IGoogle is a great place for teachers know anything they want to. You design your own page and are able to know up-to-date things that surround what interests you
Blogger - A place to put down knowledge. Like a personal journal to share what you learned or whats going on in your life
Reader - Allows a teacher to subscribe to websites so new content comes to you immediately after it's posted
Google Maps - Helps with directions to a particular place. You can get a map to anywhere you want.
Google Earth - A great way to see the planet online. One minute you could be looking at your own home, the next you could be looking at the pyramids in Egypt
Groups - Mailing Lists an Discussions groups used to help eachother become more knowledgable in a particular subject.
Google Custom Search Engine - Allows you to break down exactly what you are looking for when searching google for a subject or image.
Scholar - Helps you search for a professional paper on a subject. If I wanted a a good paper on George Washington, I would just need to come here and it would give me a whole bunch of very well written papers (A paper on his farewell adress and another on his life)
Sites - A great way to help you stay in contact with your students and allow them to access prior knowledge as well as keep in contact with the teacher
Conclusion - As a PE teacher, I don't think many of these would be appropriate for the class. I would definietly use a spreadsheet to keep track of things happening in class. I would need to use forms for approval of certain sports played in class. I would only use a calender for myself to allow me to stay on track with the core as well as help me remember the lesson plans for the day. IGoogle, google maps, and google earth are not something I would use because of computer use. Blogger could be a good use for classes surrounding just conditioning or a specific subject. Group work would be done in class with eachother, not online. The only other thing I would use is sites, and that would be for the students to check outside of class for what we are going to be doing for the rest of the week or month. It is difficult to use any computer during PE classes, because my goal as a teacher is for the students to work by moving.

Beliefs
When talking of technology and the way I should use it as a teacher in my classrooms/gym, I will have to go against the way I was taught growing up in each of my P.E. classrooms. I remember going to class, having a coach bascially roll balls out in the gym and just let us do whatever we want. I have an idea of possibly teaching new skills to the students through videos from the best athletes in the world. I had mentioned in an earlier posting that I would show a LeBron James video of how to shoot a correct jumpshot. I think by showing something like that, the students will relate and listen to someone they consider a role model, and someone who has proven to know what he is doing.
Going back to when I was in high school, I remember our form of cardio exercise in high school was to run the 1 1/2 mile run. I remember bringing an MP3 player to class and having my teacher refuse to let me use it, because it wouldnt be fair to the other students and was against school policy. I don't know if it was against school policy, but I knew that when I ran with my MP3, it was a lot easier to do. It was the way I ran and helped me through every run I did on my own, and I think as a teacher I need to recognize the necessities of students today, and know that technology is the way of today and the future. I believe that the use to IPODS will help students push themselves in the physical activities in class.

Lessons Learned
Why Integrate Technology - After reading the article, I thought the last paragraph summed it up perfectly..."Technology also changes the way teachers teach, offering educators effective ways to reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through multiple means. It also enhances the relationship between teacher and student. When technology is effectively integrated into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun."
21st Century Skills - When looking at everything in the 21st century skills, I really like that it puts everything in the perspective of now.
Teens - I find this article to be so true. I even revert back to myself. I learned so much about how to properly use email and a whole bunch of stuff. I also agree that students will want to learn more from their peers and adults in general.
The New WWW - The truth about the world is we can get whatever we want, whenever we want at the touch of a button on our computer. It keeps kids from getting out and doing the phyical activity they need. The great thing about school that keeps kids wanting to go there are things like sports and the social aspects.
Engaged Learning - Bring their world into ours! Wonderful video that makes a lot of sense. I really do think we need to get our students involved in a different way than we were. They react and act differently to things because of the way they have grown.
Games and Simulation - The page couldn't be found

Strengths and Weaknesses
-I think that knowing about technology is very important to todays society, because that is part of who we are. I think I as a P.E. teacher will be good with Standards 1 & 4 which are "Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity" and "Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Resposibility". I feel my weaknesses would include Standard 2 "Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments" and I believe that is because I think it would be difficult finding ways to include technology into a phyical education class.
-As a P.E. teacher I want to be able to keep physical fitness and moving around, working on becoming physically fit. I think the use of an MP3/IPOD is great thing to have when running and lifting weights and other phyical activities. As a teacher I can show the correct way to shoot a basketball through a video on LaBron James. Like I had mentioned. It is important to use technology, because it is the way students do everything now-a-days.
-My goals for my classes would be to create activities that students can use their ipods and give forth a complete effort. Another goal I would have is to use the tehnology to show how to do something like shooting a basketball.
