Beliefs

When talking of technology and the way I should use it as a teacher in my classrooms/gym, I will have to go against the way I was taught growing up in each of my P.E. classrooms. I remember going to class, having a coach bascially roll balls out in the gym and just let us do whatever we want. I have an idea of possibly teaching new skills to the students through videos from the best athletes in the world. I had mentioned in an earlier posting that I would show a LeBron James video of how to shoot a correct jumpshot. I think by showing something like that, the students will relate and listen to someone they consider a role model, and someone who has proven to know what he is doing.
Going back to when I was in high school, I remember our form of cardio exercise in high school was to run the 1 1/2 mile run. I remember bringing an MP3 player to class and having my teacher refuse to let me use it, because it wouldnt be fair to the other students and was against school policy. I don't know if it was against school policy, but I knew that when I ran with my MP3, it was a lot easier to do. It was the way I ran and helped me through every run I did on my own, and I think as a teacher I need to recognize the necessities of students today, and know that technology is the way of today and the future. I believe that the use to IPODS will help students push themselves in the physical activities in class.
